MTFC

MTFC is a research group dedicated to the numerical modeling and simulation of flows within the department / research unit of Aerospace & Mechanical Engineering.

Founded in 2011, MTFC is actively involved in cutting-edge fluid mechanics and multiphysics research, relying mostly on numerical approaches but leveraging close collaborations with experimental groups and other academic and industrial partners. MTFC also contributes to the teaching activities in the School of Engineering, both at the undergraduate and graduate levels.  

MTFC is located in Building B52 on the Sart-Tilman campus. It provides financial and/or scientific support to around 10 PhD students, who have their first or secondary affiliation in the research group. MTFC has several in-house codes, but also regularly uses open-source and commercial solvers. Large scale computations rely on the high performance computing infrasctructures of the CECI (Consortium des Equipements de Calcul Intensif) and PRACE (Partnership for Advanced Computing in Europe).
